Covid affected US President Donald Trump has been given steroid dexamethasone as his blood oxygen level dipped twice since Friday .

Although Dr Eric Feigl Ding, an epidemiologist and senior fellow at the Federation of American Scientists, told Al Jazeera that Trump being given dexamethasone is “a extremely worrying sign”.

World Health Organization says it is only used for critical and severe patients. It actually recommends against  people who are not serious,” he said. “NIH [National Institutes of Health] also says it only for serious patients who are either on ventilators or supplemental oxygen, which Trump barely qualifies for.”

Trump posted a video Saturday in which he said he was feeling better, but he also acknowledged that the next few days will be the “real test” as he undergoes treatment. White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said he is “cautiously optimistic” about Trump’s condition but the president is “not yet out of the woods.“

156 countries agree to Covid vaccine allocation deal .

A coalition of 156 countries has agreed a “landmark” deal to enable the rapid and equitable global distribution of any new coronavirus vaccines to 3% of participating countries’ populations, to protect vulnerable healthcare systems, frontline health workers and those in social care settings .

The Covid-19 vaccine allocation plan – co-led by the World Health Organisation   and known as Covax – has been set up to ensure that the research, purchase and distribution of any new vaccine is shared equally between the world’s richest countries and those in the developing world.

Sixty-four higher income economies have already joined Covax, which includes commitments from 35 economies as well as the European commission, which will procure doses   on behalf of the 27 European Union  member states plus Norway and Iceland   with 38 more expected to join in the coming days.

Ultimately the scheme aims to deliver 2 bllion doses of safe, effective vaccines around the world by the end of 2021.

Recognising that the first useful vaccines to emerge may be in short supply, approved vaccines will initially be made available to a tightly targeted 3% of the population of participating countries, building over time to 20% of each country’s most vulnerable population .

China’s Sinovac plans to test COVID-19 vaccine on children.

This week the Chinese vaccine maker Sinovac announced it will launch a Phase I and II cllinical trial  later this month to test its vaccine in over 552 children ages 3 to 17 in China. The trial will test both the safety of the vaccine and also examine whether it produces an immune response among the participants.

Experts say the need to conduct COVID-19 vaccine safety trials specifically among children is clear, but that holding the trials before a vaccine has been proved safe and effective among adults represents uncharted and ethically fraught territory.

The trial has already approved by the Chinese regulator, a Sinovac spokesperson said, according to Reuters. The Chinese vaccine maker’s shot is already in the final stage of study with adults.

CoronaVac, being tested in final-stage large-scale trials in Brazil, Indonesia and Turkey, has already been given to about 90% of the company’s employees and their families.

Sinovac said earlier this month CoronaVac appeared to be safe and able to induce antibodies for older people, while the vaccine-generated antibody levels were slightly lower than seen in younger adults, citing preliminary results from an early to mid stage trial .

CanSino Biologics and China National Biotec Group have also kicked off testing in countries including Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Peru, Chile and Morocco.

Rwanda Genocide :800,000 were slaughtered in 100 days.

In just 100 days in 1994 , about 800,000 people were slaughtered in Rwanda by ethnic Hutu extremists .They were targeting members of the minority Tutsi community, as well as their political opponents , irrespective of their ethnic origin .

How was the Genocide Started ?
About 85% of Rwandans are Hutus but the Tutsi minority has long dominated the country. In 1959, the Hutus overthrew the Tutsi monarchy and tens of thousands of Tutsis fled to neighbouring  countries including Uganda .

A group of Tutsi exiles formed a rebel group, the Rwandan Patriotic Front  which invaded Rwanda in 1990 and fighting continued until a 1993 peace deal was agreed.

On the night of 6 April 1994 a plane carrying then-President Juvenal Habyarimana, and his counterpart Cyprien Ntaryamira of Burundi - both Hutus - was shot down, killing everyone on board.

At the time,National  ID cards had people's ethnic group on them, so militias set up roadblocks where Tutsis were slaughtered, often with machetes which most Rwandans kept around the house .

Did anyone try to stop that Genocide ?

The United Nation and Belgium had deployed forces in Rwanda but the UN mission was not given a mandate to stop the killing.

How did massacre end ?

The well-organised Rwandan Patriotic Front backed by Uganda's army, gradually seized more territory, until 4 July 1994, when its forces marched into the Rwandan capital, Kigali.

Some two million Hutus - both civilians and some of those involved in the massacre- then fled across the border into the Democratic Republic of Congo, at the time called Zaire, fearing revenge attacks. Others went to neighbouring Tanzania and Burundi.

Human rights groups say RPF fighters killed thousands of Hutu civilians as they took power - and more after they went into DR Congo to pursue the Interahamwe.

Adultery is no longer cirme now in India.

New Delhi 27th September 2018 : India's supreme court on 27th September Thursday decriminalized adultery in a landmark judgment aimed at upholding the right to equality and freedom, scrapping a law first brought in under British colonial rule in 1860.

In a unanimous judgment, the five-member bench of the top court struck down a law that meant a man who had sex with a married woman without getting her husband's permission could be charged and face up to five years in Jail if convicted .

"Adultery cannot and shoult not be a crime.  It can be a ground for a civil offense, a ground for divorce," Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra said while reading out the judgment.

While very few people have been  for adultery in recent years, the threat of charges has often been used in matrimonial disputes to put pressure on women, lawyers said.

"Physicality is an individual choice," Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, one of the five-member bench, said in the ruling. The law was based on the concept that a woman loses her individuality once she is married, he said, adding, " adultery is a relic of past "
